The Hillsborough Education Foundation
The foundation supports the public school system. Established in 1988, the Hillsborough Education Foundation has invested more than $88 million in the enhancement of public education in Hillsborough County.
The Foundation’s mission is to devote community resources to help students achieve academic success. As a 501(c)(3) organization, it provides Hillsborough County Public Schools with funding that is typically more flexible than restricted tax dollars. The funding and extra resources for the students, teachers, and schools helps to cover the gap that exists between what school budgets can cover, and what is needed to ensure the academic success of our students.
Additionally, the Foundation provides the private sector with a channel for educational giving by serving as the conduit between the community and Hillsborough County Public Schools.
The Hillsborough Education Foundation supports the public school system through its five major initiatives: Career & Technical Education, Excellence in Education Recognition Programs, Scholarships, School Enrichment, Teaching Tools for Hillsborough Schools.
